Museum of Aspern-Essling 1809

The museum, housed in the former St Sebastian’s Chapel, just behind the Lion of Aspern monument, commemorates the battles against Napoleon at Aspern and Essling in 1809. The exhibition provides an overview of the fighting between French and Austrian troops in May 1809.

GUIDED TOURS

Guided tours are regularly offered, providing visitors with an explanation of the course and consequences of the Battle of 1809, and of objects recovered from the battlefield.
