Model Workshop at Steinhof
The Model Workshop at Steinhof offers a glimpse into the history of what was once Europe's largest psychiatric hospital, displaying a collection of over 100-year-old objects. The exhibition features basement finds of original architectural models of the pavilions and models of historical significance to psychiatry. These include a model of the Art Nouveau theatre on the Otto Wagner Areal, a Ferris wheel, and an oversized doll's house, which were built by patients in the workshops. The main attraction is a model of the Otto Wagner Church, which, like all the other objects, was painstakingly restored by project participants at the Model Workshop at Steinhof.
