Weltmuseum Wien
Visit the museum of diversity! At the Weltmuseum Wien, over 3,000 objects from all over the world await you. Acting as ambassadors and storytellers, they reveal their origins and the circumstances of their journey to the museum.
Special exhibitions:
‘Raining Blood. Photography and Arms Trafficking’: ‘Raining Blood’ explores the close interconnection between war, the arms trade, and colonialism around 1900, contrasting photographs and objects from the Weltmuseum Wien with contemporary works of art. The exhibition highlights how armed conflicts shape social reality.
‘Storage Stories’: In three exhibition rooms within the galleries of the Weltmuseum Wien, a variety of objects from the museum’s collection are on display, ranging from hair combs and stone artefacts to contemporary art from Pakistan.
