Belvedere – Belvedere 21
The former world expo pavilion today serves as a space for contemporary art, where exhibitions and community programmes challenge dominant social views.
‘Visionary Spaces. Walter Pichler meets Frederick Kiesler in a display by Sonia Leimer’: The starting point of this exhibition is a studio visit by the Austrian sculptor Walter Pichler to the Austro-American architect Frederick Kiesler in New York in 1963. In a display by Sonia Leimer, these two visionaries now engage in a fictitious dialogue that revolves around their cross-disciplinary thinking and creativity.
‘Kazuko Miyamoto’: The Japanese-American artist Kazuko Miyamoto is one of the most important protagonists of Minimal and Post-Minimal Art and, as a member of the A.I.R. Gallery, has promoted the presentation of feminist art.
