Vienna Tramway Museum – WTM
The Vienna Tramway Museum owns 111 historical trams. From the horse-drawn tramway dating from 1868, through the first electric trams, to the ULF prototype, each carriage is a unique listed item. 35 tram carriages and many other exhibits are on loan to Wiener Linien for the ‘Remise’ transport museum. 26 historical tramway carriages from the 1906 original to the 1973 exhibition state are available for hire.
During the ‘Long Night’, visitors can enjoy a ride on the ‘moving museum’ in three of these listed two-carriage tram trains. The historical trams run every 20 minutes on the route from Belvedere, along the outer Vienna Ring Road and back to Belvedere.
ROUND TRIPS
Use the ‘moving museum’ for a hop-on, hop-off tour to many other participating museums, travelling anti-clockwise along the entire Vienna Ring Road and Franz-Josefs-Kai, via Schwarzenbergplatz and Prinz-Eugen-Straße to Quartier Belvedere and back, every 20 minutes.
