House of Strauss
The exhibition in the House of Strauss is dedicated to the life and work of the Strauss dynasty. During the ‘ORF Long Night of Museums’, your visit turns into a real ‘Night at the Museum’ experience: the exhibition rooms will remain dark and can be explored in a unique way using torches.
INTRODUCTORY TALK (AT 10.15 PM)
Prof. Dr Norbert Rubey, renowned musicologist, scientific director of the Vienna Institute for Strauss Research, and curator of the exhibition at the House of Strauss, will talk about the historic ‘Tivoli ensemble’ during the time of Johann Strauss Sr.
CONCERT (AT 10.22 PM)
This will be the first public concert featuring the original Tivoli line-up at the original venue of the Strauss dynasty, where all four Strauss composers performed in person. Featuring works by Johann Strauss Sr., conducted by Christian Pollack.
