Liechtenstein City Palace
'A house shines in its former glory': After five years of extensive renovation work, the City Palace appears in all its former glory since 2013. It is held to be the first major building of the High Baroque age in Vienna. The magnificent ensemble of Baroque stucco ceilings, opulent Neo-Rococo interiors and original furnishings, complemented by Michael Thonet’s fine parquet flooring, form a harmonious whole.
Waldmüller, Amerling, Rudolf von Alt: The Princely Collections contain major works of European art from five centuries and are among the most important private collections in the world. In the City Palace, you can see paintings and furniture from one of the most productive and best-known epochs in Viennese art history, the Classicist and Biedermeier era.
The 'ORF Long Night of Museums' 2024 at the City Palace: Admission is only possible with a guided tour.
