Vienna Furniture Museum

The Vienna Furniture Museum houses one of the world's largest furniture collections, with a history dating back to the 18th century. It offers a unique insight into four centuries of furniture and interiors, with collections ranging from the Baroque and Rococo periods to the Empire, Biedermeier, Historicism and Viennese Modernism and the 20th and 21st centuries.

The special exhibition ‘Josef Frank and the Others’ focuses on modern furniture design from the interwar period in Austria.

OVERVIEW TOUR OF THE PERMANENT EXHIBITION (AT 7 PM AND AT 9 PM)

During a short guided tour, visitors can learn more about the Habsburg heritage, the Biedermeier period, and Wagner, Hoffmann and Loos (duration approx. 45 minutes).

A fascinating journey through the changing styles of Austrian furniture design in the interwar period – from everyday objects to interior design.

Experts from the museum's own workshops will offer an exciting look over their shoulders as they demonstrate how professionals restore, gild, and upholster historical furniture.
