Simmering District Museum

The aim of the Simmering District Museum is to preserve, research, and communicate the history of Vienna’s 11th district. Its current focus is on historic irrigation systems such as the Göpel fountains on the Simmeringer Haide and the former Wiener Neustadt Canal, along which horse-drawn boats transported fuel and bricks to Vienna.

Discover the bodies of water of Simmering in the new exhibition ‘Water (Hi)stories’ and take a nightly tour following the route of the former Wiener Neustadt Canal. Create your own mustard with the help of experts and fill it into a tube to take home.
