Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Vienna

Situated in the heart of Vienna, the Azerbaijani Cultural Centre is a meeting point and exhibition space dedicated to Azerbaijani art and culture.

The exhibition, 'In the beginning was the word... and music, colours and thoughts', illustrates the evolution of Azerbaijan's distinct cultural identity in the fields of literature, music, theatre, and painting. It focuses on individuals such as Mirza Fatali Akhundov, Mirza Gadim Iravani, Hasan bey Zardabi, and Üsejir Hadschibäjli, who, inspired by the rich tradition, incorporated modern ideas, Enlightenment values, and innovations into Azerbaijani cultural life. Theatre, painting, opera, and the press became the means by which this cultural change was expressed. A multilingual audio guide accompanies visitors through the exhibition.
