The Long Night Tram of the VEF
The historical Viennese trams illustrate the development of urban public transport in the city. 15 exhibits from the VEF, ‘Verband der Eisenbahnfreunde’ (an association of train and tram enthusiasts) are incorporated into the collection of the ‘Remise’, the transport museum of the Wiener Linien at Erdberg. A further 16 carriages, built between 1913 and 1963, are available to hire for special trips. An authentic train has been assembled from this collection, as it gave the Viennese cityscape its characteristic appearance for decades. Marked as the 'Lange-Nacht-Bim', the vintage tram runs clockwise around the Vienna Ring Road and Franz-Josefs-Kai every 30 minutes between 6 pm and 12 am. Experience the history of Vienna's urban transport up close in this ‘moving museum’!
