Vintage Bus Shuttle to the Schwechat Railway Museum
The Schwechat Railway Museum, run by the VEF ‘Verband der Eisenbahnfreunde’ (an association of train and tram enthusiasts) preserves the memory of the legendary Pressburg Railway. The exhibition is housed in the carriage shed and workshop of this electrically powered interurban railway. The museum also pays tribute to its predecessors, including the local railways Schwechat–Mannersdorf–Bruck/Leitha–Hainburg, and Vienna–Aspang. Several carriages over 120 years old offer visitors a glimpse into travel at the beginning of the 20th century. Come and experience this for yourself during the ORF Long Night of Museums, when everything is lit by gaslight.
