Vintage Bus Shuttle to the Schwechat Railway Museum
The Schwechat Railway Museum, run by the VEF (Association of Railway Enthusiasts), preserves the memory of the legendary Pressburg Railway. The exhibition is housed in the carriage shed and workshop of this interurban railway, which was electrically powered from the very beginning. The museum also pays tribute to its predecessors, such as the Schwechat–Mannersdorf, Bruck/Leitha–Hainburg, and Vienna–Aspang local railways. Several carriages over 120 years old offer visitors a glimpse into travelling at the beginning of the 20th century. Come and experience this for yourself during the ‘ORF Long Night of Museums’, when everything is lit by gaslight.
SHUTTLE SERVICE WITH VINTAGE BUSES BETWEEN VIENNA AND SCHWECHAT (HOURLY, FROM 5 PM)
On vintage buses from 1983 and 1992, visitors can travel directly from Vienna (from Maria-Theresien-Platz, via Vienna Central Cemetery, and Schwechat train station) to the Schwechat Railway Museum every hour.
The Funeral Museum at Gate 2 of the Vienna Central Cemetery is also served.
Please note: The regular (€ 19) and discounted (€ 16) ticket for the ‘ORF Long Night of Museums’ is valid on the bus and can also be purchased onboard. The regional ticket (€ 7) is not valid for the bus ride!

During the ‘ORF Long Night of Museums’, you can also view the vintage trams on the open-air exhibition area, which are normally not accessible.
GUIDED TOURS
Guided tours of the collection and the workshop are available throughout the evening and on request.
