KEX Kunsthalle Exnergasse
The Kunsthalle Exnergasse (KEX) in the WUK Werkstätten- und Kulturhaus in Vienna defines itself as an open platform for innovative, experimental and contemporary art.
The exhibition ‘Start Sniffing’ sheds light on the creative practice of non-human animals and puts the human-animal relationship into the centre of the art world. The exhibition offers a glimpse into a world view that looks beyond human dominance. Works of art that address the coexistence between humans and animals are on display alongside sculptures of animal protagonists.
Artists: CMUK, Benjamin Egger, Ivana Filip, Lisa Jevbratt, Hartmut Kiewert, Aidan Koch (IFIAAR), Lisa Korpos, Paris van der Thunder. Curator: Lena Lieselotte Schuster.
A SCENTED WORK OF ART FOR DOGS (6 PM-12 AM)
Dogs are explicitly permitted to enter the ‘Start Sniffing’ exhibition! After all, who else would sniff out the scent-based installation by artist Lisa Korpos? An olfactory landscape that can be explored on a sensory level by our four-legged friends.
ANIMAL COLOUR VISION (6 PM-12 AM)
The work ‘Zoomorph’ by artist Lisa Jevbratt offers you the possibility of a change of perspectives. Using an app, visitors can experience the exhibition through the eyes of different animal species.
SHORT GUIDED TOURS (6 PM-8 PM)
Curator Lena Lieselotte Schuster will give short guided tours of the exhibition.
For the rest of the evening, the KEX team will be available to answer questions.
