Magic Set Museum

'Wondrous boxes for learning the spectacular art of magic' – the biggest collection of magic sets in the world. With more than 3,000 different magic sets from three centuries, it is even listed in the Guinness Book of Records. Around 200 showpieces on display allow you to immerse yourself in a world full of fascination and magic. From the first book of magic tricks and the first magic set from the beginning of the 19th century to new and most extraordinary magic sets, everything is explained in detail. A showcase with professional magic devices rounds off the exhibition.

Current special exhibition: ‘The magic sets of Wittus Witt'. A street magician while studying art and design, Wittus Witt was discovered for German television in 1975 and went on to enchant audiences for years. His wide range of interests led him to collect historical magic sets in particular, to publish a book about magic sets (1987), which triggered a veritable collecting boom among magic set collectors worldwide, and to bring out his own magic sets, including the smallest one the size of a matchbox. He has also been running a magic museum in Hamburg since 2022.
